Buffalo is blessed to have this great coop and it does take great advantage of this wonderful store and resource. Now, Buffalo you have it all, great coop and great chocolate. Come celebrate life, Life by Chocolate that is, at the Lexington Real Foods Coop and now also Real Chocolate Coop. They understand Fair Trade. They understand local foods. They understand organic. And as if that is not enough, Lexi's Kitchen is out of this world. Empanada Pie. Yum. They know where I live. Paella, too. Wow. Did I mention the local New York apples? Life cannot get better than this.
Please support them and support us by buying your chocolate, especially Life by Chocolate, at this store.

The Lexington Co-op looks nice but I would like to do all my shopping there.... i dont know who is deciding what products to bring in but they have WAY too much space devoted to the same products... way too much soup, honey, bottled water, olive oil, yogurt, potato chips cereal. They need to pick fewer duplicate products and offer more selection of different products. it's almost impossible to make a whole recipe from those shelves. There has been a lot of managers leaving the store within the last few months. Are the inmates running the asylum? Why cant they keep managers?
Well, Coops by definition are supported by their members and what that means is not supported financially, which they are but also supported with time. Perhaps you should attend coop meetings and maybe even volunteer. If you voice your needs, make yourself heard, then you can make a difference. Again, that's the definition of a cooperative, to cooperate in the running of the coop.
So, a coop is only as good as its members. Have at it. Get involved. Do special orders. As my friend Rob can tell you, it's tough being a manager of a coop.
At least you have Life by Chocolate there to help soothe your nerves. ;-)
