Life by Chocolate

Chocolate, white, milk, dark, in all its forms forms life. Chocolate truffles, caramels, and other confections are at the core of enjoyment. This is life by chocolate because death by chocolate is the wrong attitude.

Pot de Crème VS. Pot au Crème

One of my French sources, native Canadian French speaker, says that because Creme is feminine and because au (à + le) is masculine it cannot be correct. Then why am I seeing it all over the place?

Anyone with an answer?
